Deep Fried Chili Rellenos Wrap

Ingredients

  • oil for deep frying
  • 3- 4 oz. cans whole green chilies
  • 1- 10 oz. block cheddar cheese
  • 1- 10 oz. block Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 10 flour tortillas

Preparation

Step 1

Separate chilies to make 10 individual pieces. Slice both cheeses into 1- strips. Place 1 strip of each cheese inside each chili. Place cheese stuffed chilies in center of each tortilla. Fold end of tortilla over chili (envelope style). Secure with toothpicks.
In bowl, beat egg and milk until well blended.
In another bowl, combine flour, chili powder and garlic salt.
Dip tortilla in egg mixture, then in flour. Deep fry 1 minute on each side until golden brown.
