Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbls. vanilla
  • 2 cups sifted cake flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 (8-ounce) carton sour cream
  • 1 cup peeled, finely chopped apple
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 Tbls. brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 1 ( 3-ounce) package cream cheese,softened
  • 2 to 2 1/2 tsps. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups powered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1. Beat butter at medium speed until creamy; gradually add 2 cups sugar, beating well. Add eggs,one at a time. Stir in vanilla.
2. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture to butter mixture alternately with sour cream,
beginning and ending with flour mixture. Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan.
3. Combine apple and next three ingredients; spoon over batter in pan, leaving a 1/2 inch border around center and outer edges. Add remaining batter.
4. Bake at 350 for 50 to 55 minutes
5. Drizzle with cream cheese glaze or sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Cream Cheese Glaze
1. Beat cream cheese at medium speed until fluffy. Add milk, vanilla-beat until smooth.
