Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 t. vanilla
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 oz. carton sour cream
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1/2 t. vanilla
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1 T. cinnamon
  • nuts for topping

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together: butter, sugar, and eggs

Add 1 c. sour cream

Fold in : sifted flour, baking powder, vanilla, and salt.

Pour 1/2 of above mixture into greased and floured pan. With a large spoon, make a well through the mixture.

In another bowl mix: brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts. Sprinkle half of above into the well. Pour other half of cake mixture over above the brown sugar mix. Sprinkle rest of brown sugar mix across top. Bake at 350 deg. for 1 hour. Cool for 10 min. and then turn our while still warm. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
