Grandma Irene's Rye Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg regular yeast
  • 3 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2 cup rye flour
  • 2 1/2 cup white flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 tblsp sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Disolve yeast and 1/2 cup warm water. Then add and mix together flours, salt, sugar and 3 cups warm water. Let set for at least 2 hrs or over night is best. Then add enough white flour to make soft dough. Make into loaves and let raise then bake at 350 for 45-60 mins (depends on the loaf size)
