Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/2 c. soft shortening (half butter)
• 1/2 c. peanut butter
• 1/2 c. granulated sugar
• 1/2 c. brown sugar (packed)
• 1 egg
• 1 1/4 c. flour, sifted
• 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 3/4 tsp. soda
• 1/4 tsp. salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugars and egg thoroughly. Blend all dry ingredients; stir in. Chill.

Roll into balls the size of large walnuts. Place 3" apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Flatten with fork dipped in flour...crisscross. Bake 10 - 12 minutes at 375 degrees.
