Vegetable Beef Soup

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. stew beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 4 to 5 medium sliced carrots
- 1/2 c. onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 c. chopped cabbage
- 1 (No. 2) can Italian style tomatores
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 beef bouillon cube

Step 1
Cover meat with cold water in a heavy three-quart kettle. Add salt, pepper and bay leaves. Bring to bubbly stage while preparing the vegetables. Turn heat low and add celery, onions, carrots and cabbage. Simmer at least 2 1/2 hours or until meat is very tender. Remove bone and bay leaves and cut meat into bite-sized pieces. Add tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce and bouillon cube. Simmer for 30 minutes longer and serve.
