Quick Biscuitt Donuts

made with Pillsbury Grand biscuits -- the easiest ever homemade doughnuts, plus colorful toppings
Ingredients
- Vanilla Glaze:
- 2 cans large buttermilk biscuits (8 biscuits per can, such as Pillsbury Grands)
- 1 large container Peanut oil or Vegetable Oil
- 1 1-inch round cookie cutter
- 1 Large Dutch oven or large, heavy saucepan or Deep fryer
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbsp milk
- Lemon Glaze:
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 tsp grated lemon zest
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Orange Glaze:
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1 tsp grated orange zest
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- Mocha Glaze:
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tbsp coffee
- Yellow Food Coloring
- Pink Food Coloring
- Orange Food Coloring
- Toppings: choose from:
- Sprinkles
- Coconut flakes
- strawberry jam
- Reese's piece

Preparation
Step 1
Doughnuts:
1. Open both large cans of biscuits
2. Cut out center of each uncooked biscuit with a 1-inch round cookie cutter and reserve centers
3. Pour oil into Large Dutch oven or large, heavy saucepan to a depth of 2 inches (if using a Deep fryer, follow manufacturer's directions)
4. Warm over medium heat until oil registers 350 degrees on a deep-fry thermometer or bubbles vigorously when a doughnut is lowered in.
5. Fry doughnuts and holes in batches (don't crowd pan) until golden, flipping once.
6. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towls using a slotted spoon.
7. Dip doughnuts in glaze and top as desired while warm.
Vanilla Glaze:
Mix confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Tint pink if desired. Add desired topping.
Lemon Glaze:
Mix confectioners' sugar, grated lemon zest and lemon juice until smooth. Tint yellow if desired. Add coconut or desired topping.
Orange Glaze:
Mix confectioners' sugar, grated orange zest and orange juice until smooth. Tint orange if desired. Add desired topping.
Mocha Glaze:
Mix confectioners' sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder and coffee until smooth. Top with sprinkles or desired topping.
