Ingredients

  • Dough:
  • 1 C. Milk Scalded
  • 2 Tbs. Shortening
  • 2 Tbs. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cake yeast
  • 1/4 C. Lukewarm Water
  • 1 Egg Beaten
  • 3 1/2 C. Flour
  • Filling:
  • 4 Tbs. Butter
  • 1/2 C Brown Sugar
  • 4 tsp. Cinnamon
  • For Pans:
  • Brown Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Butter

Preparation

Step 1

Soften yeast in warm water.

Combine Milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. Add softened yeast and egg, mix well. Gradually add flour to form a soft dough. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead until you have a smooth ball. Place in bowl, cover with cloth, place in warm place until dough has doubled in size.

Divide dough in 2 equal pieces. Roll dough on a lightly floured surface into an oblong shape 1/4" thick. Brush with 2 Tbs. butter and sprinkle with 1/4 C. brown sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Roll and cut into 1" pieces.

Grease cake pan with butter, sprinkle bottom with brown sugar and cinnamon. Place rolls in pan. Cover with cloth and place in warm place to rise to double.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
