Ingredients
- 1 c bran bud cereal
- 1 c boiling water
- 1 1/2 c sugar
- 2 1/2 c flour
- 1/2 t salt
- 2 c shredded bran cereal
- 1/2 c margarine
- 2 egs
- 2 1/2 t baking soda
- 2 c buttermilk
Preparation
Step 1
In a bowl combine the bran buds and boiling water. Let cool. Cream margarine, sugar, eggs. Add the cooled bran bud mixture to the creamed mixture. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately to creamed mixture with buttermilk and shreeded bran cereal. Store in covered container in fridge for up to 6 weeks. Stir each time before using. Spoon into greased and floured muffin tins or papers. Bake 400 for 15 minutes.
