Ingredients

  • COOKIES

  • ½

    cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  • ¼

    cup brown sugar

  • ½

    cup granulated sugar

  • 2

    tsp vanilla

  • ¼

    tsp baking powder

  • 1

    large egg

  • cups all-purpose flour

  • 1

cup (6 oz.) bittersweet chocolate chunks or chips

  • 1

    cup (4 oz.) dried cranberries

  • GLAZE

  • 1

    tb. light corn syrup

  • ¾

    cup (6 oz.) heavy cream

  • 1

cup (6 oz.) chopped semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 400. Lightly grease (or line with parchment) two baking sheets. For cookies: In large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, sugar, vanilla, and baking powder, until smooth. Beat in egg, stopping once to scrape sides and bottom of bowl. Add flour, mixing until dough comes together. Stir in chocolate chips and cranberries. Scoop dough by tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheets. Use bottom of glass dipped in sugar to flatten dough to about 3/8 inches thick. Bake cookies 9-11 minutes, until barely set and just starting to turn brown around the edges. Remove from oven and cool on sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer to rack to cool completely. For the glaze: Combine corn syrup and cream, bring to a simmer. Pour over the chocolate and stir until smooth. Drizzle warm glaze over cooled cookies.
