Ingredients

  • 2 1/8 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 12 tbsp butter (1 1/2 sticks) melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 (12 oz) bag M&Ms, divided

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with foil, letting excess hang over the edges of pan.
Spray the foil-lined pan with non stick cooking spray.
Mix flour, salt and baking soda together, set aside.
Whisk the melted butter, and sugars in a large bowl until combined.
Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, mix well.
Using rubber spatula, fold dry ingredients into eegg mixture until just combined, dont overmix.
Fold in 1 cup of M&Ms and turn the batter into the prepared pan,smoothing slightly.
Sprinkle remaining M&Ms on top, press in slightly.
Bake 24-28 minutes, until top of bars are light golden brown and slightly firm to touch.
Cool on wire rack.
