Ingredients

  • For Cookie:

  • 3

    cup(s) all-purpose flour

  • 1

    tsp. baking powder

  • 2

    Tbsp. ground ginger

  • 2

    tsp. cinnamon

  • 1

    tsp. ground cloves

  • 1/2

    cup(s) unsalted butter, at room temperature

  • 2/3

    cup(s) molasses

  • 1

    tsp. vanilla

  • 1/2

    cup(s) brown sugar

  • 1

    egg

  • 1/2

    cup(s) water

  • 1

    tsp. salt

  • For Icing:

  • 1

    cup powdered sugar

  • 2

    Tbsp. water

  • 1/2

    tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Cream together butter, sugar, molasses, vanilla and water. Add flour mixture to butter mixture. Form dough into a flat circle and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll out dough, cut into desired shapes and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Mix together powdered sugar, water and vanilla for icing. Pour into a small resealable bag for an easy decorating bag.
