Ingredients
- 2 c. white sugar
- 1 c. shortening/butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 2 eggs
- 3 - 3 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
Step 1
Cream sugar and shortening until fluffy. Add eggs and molasses. Beat well. Add dry ingredients, moderate amounts at a time. Mix well. Divide dough to make either 6 or 8 dozen cookies. Roll into balls. Roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in 350F oven 12 min, or convect 325F 10 - 11 min using 2 trays.
Be careful not to overbake, as they are better if chew
