Ingredients
- 1 cup shortening
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon almond or vanilla extract
- Green food coloring
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Cream the shortening. Add sugar gradually. Add the egg and extract. Mix in a few drops of green food coloring. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add to mixture gradually. Let sit for a few minutes. Put through the cookie press onto cookie sheets. Decorate with sprinkles or colored sugar if desired. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 -12 minutes or until very light brown and set.
