Mandarin Salad

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c sliced almonds
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp white sugar
  • 1/4 head lettuce,broken
  • 1 romaine head,broken
  • 2 medium stalks celery,sliced
  • 2 green onions
  • 1 can mandarin oranges drained
  • Dressing
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbsp white sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp snipped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • dash of pepper
  • dash of red pepper sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Heat sugar in heavy saucepan until liquified
Add almonds and stir until coated;set aside
Prepare the next 5 ingredients
Mix the ingredients for the dressing
Shake and chill for no more than 24 hrs
Pour over salad and toss
