- 1
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 cup Packed Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup Molasses
- 2 1/4 cups All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Ginger
- 1/2 tsp Cloves
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 2/3 cup Turbinado Sugar, for rolling in cookies*
Preparation
Step 1
In large bowl of electric mixer, cream together butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg and molasses until combined. Stir together flour, spices, and salt. Add to butter mixture and blend well. Chill dough at least one hour.
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Form dough into 1-inch balls and roll each in turbinado sugar to coat. Place on baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden around the edges. Cool completely on wire rack.
Helpful Tips:
Note: Turbinado sugar is raw coarse sugar, available at most grocery stores. If you cannot find it, the cookie dough balls can be rolled in regular granulated sugar, but the turbinado adds an added wonderful crunch and texture.
