  • 3

    cans Great Northern Beans

  • Bottle of ketchup

  • Tablespoon mustard

  • Tablespoon sugar

  • 1

    small onion

  • Bacon or hot dogs

Open two cans of beans and wash. Put the clean beans in a casserole dish. Open one can, unwashed, and add to the casserole dish. Chop onion and add to beans. Squeeze about ¾ bottle of ketchup or until beans are covered with ketchup and are the right color. Add mustard and sugar and stir. Put aside about six pieces of bacon. Chop the reminder of bacon and add to beans. Take six remaining pieces and partially cook them in the microwave or the George Foreman Grill. Put partially cooked bacon on top of the beans. Cook in the oven at 350o for 25 minutes or until beans are bubbly. If you use hotdogs instead of bacon, cut up hot dogs and add to beans. Can be made vegetarian. Goes well with picnic food, such as fried chicken or potato salad. Freezes well.
