Easy Way Lasagna

By

"My son says he has eaten lasagna in so many restaurants, trying to find one as good as mine, but never has. So every time we visit him in Michigan I'm sure to make this for him."

MY NOTES: Cook the lasagne noodles in my Fasta Pasta Maker!

Ingredients

  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 (26 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
  • 8 ounces cottage cheese
  • 1 eggs
  • 3/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese, grated

Preparation

Step 1

In 13x9 pan, spoon a little of the sauce. Place 3 lasagna noodles on the sauce.

Mix cottage cheese, egg, and parmesan cheese in a bowl. Spread 1/3 of this over noodles. Add 1/3 of the sauce. Sprinkle with 1 cup mozzarella.

Now, add 3 more noodles, 1/3 more cottage cheese mixture, 1/3 more sauce. Add 1 cup more mozzarella cheese.

One more time, do the layers.

Bake in 350°F oven for about 1 hour. Top should be light brown and bubbly.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! This is the BEST lasagna I have ever had. I cooked 1/2 pound hamburger with a few chopped onions and added that to the sauce. It has a whole lot of flavor, is very moist and cheesy. It was so easy to put together. Even without precooking the noodles, they are as done as if you had cooked them! This one has the perfect taste, We will make it a lot!! THANK YOU!!

Made for a party and amazed people that I had MADE lasagna and not just bought one. So easy and very good. Got a lot of praise for how moist it was. Added ground beef and onions to my sauce but that was it.

We really enjoyed this recipe. It has got to be the easiest lasagna I've ever made! I added ground beef to the sauce. Came out great. Thanks, will be making this one again.

EXCELLENT!!! And Sooooooo very easy. We all had seconds. Followed recipe exactly as stated. I might add some gound beef and sausage next time, but this was simply delicious as is! Thank you.

When my son Andrew goes back for seconds, let alone thirds!! It is by far a keeper. I got so tired of the kids telling me my lasagna was crap, BUT NO MORE. Thanks!

My husband and I make this recipe at least once a month. It's truly easy and SO GOOD! I usually cook up some ground Italian Sausage and throw it in the tomato sauce. We look forward to lasagna night because that means we get to eat the leftovers for lunch all week long. YUM!

Very, very good. I made a very few changes. I doubled the recipe more or less, added fresh basil and used homemade spaghetti sauce.

This lasagna is fantastic! I think I'll try adding italian sausage next time too since my hubby likes that...but I loved it the way it was!! Thank you for this recipe!

It's so easy and and yet so good! It's a big hit at our house.

What an outstanding lasagna, and so simple to make!! I made a couple of these for a funeral and one comment I received was from an Italian lady who said it was almost as good as her mother's... I took that as a great compliment indeed. I, too, added some meat and onions, and next time would also go for a spaghetti sauce with a little garlic and maybe some kick to it. This was enjoyed by all. Thanks for this wonderful recipe!! Dianne

I used the no-bake lasagna noodles so it was even easier! Nice to know you can throw a lasagna together in less than an hour!! I didn't change anything, it made a basic "no frills" lasagna. Just cheese, sauce, and noodles- Excellent! The leftovers were to die for - no grease from the meat-because there was no meat! The next time I may add the fresh basil as Vicki suggested. I can see changing the Ragu flavor to change it up a little each time. I'm all over this one Mizz Nezz, really appreciate it! I don't really think there's a way to mess it up, unless you burn it! Great idea for a dinner party - everybody loves lasagna! Served with a light salad and garlic parmesan breadsticks - a real man (or kid) pleaser!

I will never make lasagna any other way--ever again! It is simply the best--and couldn't be much easier. I use the regular lasagna noodles and they turn out just fine. Sometimes I use the veggie burger crumbles with chopped onion--but it doesn't need it. I do double the cottage cheese, egg and parmesan--as I prefer more filling. Everyone asks to have the recipe--I love to make it for company!

This Lasagna was WONDERFUL!! When I told DH that it was an "easy" lasagna recipe, he said he was surprised and would never have guessed. The only changes I made was to add 1/2lb ground beef and onion to the sauce and increase the cottage cheese to 16 oz. I also wasn't sure if I should cook the noodles or not, so I used no boil noodles and cooked covered for 30 minutes and uncovered for 25. It was perfect! Thanks for a great recipe!

I made this last night and just had it today for lunch. Yum! Easy..I used the no boil noodles also. I added 1/4 cup of red wine to the recipe. I served it with Richard's Bread Salad #9108. Good dinner. DH liked it too and he liked that there were fewer and cheaper ingredients, yet tasted great.

I can't believe how tasty this simple little recipe is! Although I hadn't tried it, I made three and threw them in the freezer. Last night I defrosted one and served it with mushroom & barley soup and a tossed salad. It was really excellent. I used a canned tomato sauce that I doctored with fresh garlic and basil and oven ready noodles. Thanks Inez, I will definately be making this again.

I give it a 4 bc it's super easy to make. Taste, however, is 3 stars to me. I made it based on all the great reviews, but it's just not that great to me.

Delicious recipe! I have made this lasagna at least 40- 50 times. I also make chicken/alfredo lasagna -- I cooked and shredded two cups of chicken and then mixed it with three jars (15 oz each) of Bertolli alfredo sauce. I also always use more mozzarella than the recipe calls for. If I'm making regular lasagna -- I brown 1 lb of hamburger meat and add onion and basil then drain the water/grease and again use 45 oz of my favorite tomato based pasta sauce to the meat mixture and go from there with the recipe. It always turns out yummy. Oh, I also use the no bake lasagna noodles -- one less step I have to take in cooking! Thanks for a wonderful, keeper!

Fantastic!!! This was not only the easiest lasagna I've made, but it was the best one! I made it exactly as written, but used 15 oz of ricotta instead of cottage cheese (due to what I had on hand). I also used 2 jars of sauce instead of 1. I covered the lasagna with foil for the first 45 minutes, then topped with more shredded mozzarella and baked for 15 more minutes uncovered. I let it sit for 10 min before eating and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I will never boil lasagna noodles again!!! We loved this recipe.

This turned out pretty good. I added ground turkey to it and used almost a whole thing of a 16 ounce cottage cheese. I took it out after an hour, and it was burned on top. Also, the noodles were very firm still. The lasagna sauce had a nice taste. Next time I will cook the noodles before adding them to pan. Thanks!

This is a keeper!!!My children loved it .And best of all my hubby didnt even ask "where's the beef?" lol. This was so easy and I already had most of the ingredients on hand. ty for posting.

Yum Yum Yum!!!! This was amazing! I made this without the mozzarella and substituted Swiss cheese because I had run out of mozzarella and it was amazing! My husband loved it and there were no leftovers! It was amazing!

The first time I made this I didn't expect much. I wondered how good it could be with just basic ingredients, no extra seasonings, meat or veggies. I even put a Italian seasoning grinder on when I set the table, just in case. Well, no one needed it. A basic but terrific lasagna. When I made it tonight I altered it alittle because my fridge/freezer went out and I needed to use things up. I probably used more of some ingredients than called for. My cottage cheese was low fat. I had about 1/4 of a green bell pepper, and a couple of slices of sweet onion that I diced and sauteed. I added them to some veggie crumbles I had left over and put them in the center layer of the lasagna. It still made a great lasagna, everyone went back for seconds! DD even asked if we could have it again this week. Served with garlic bread and salad.

This was so quick & easy!! I added 1 pound of ground beef. Turned out delicious! Will be making again and again.

I was looking for a quick lasagna recipe, and this fit the bill. I added cooked ground beef, and used quick-cook lasagna. (I didn't boil it beforehand.) Because of the speed and convenience, I was surprised at how absolutely delicious it tasted!! This is going to be a staple in our house. Thanks so much!!

I made this b/c of all the raving reviews but I found this lasagna to be just fair in taste. I didn't change anything except add fresh basil to the sauce. IF I'm to make this again, I would probably use Ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese but I doubt it'll be enough to make it better for my taste.

I am a lasagna devotee, and it's really nice to find a vegetarian lasagna that doesn't depend on actual vegetables, other than the tomato sauce! I made my own herbed tomato sauce, and since I didn't have cottage cheese, I used 225gr of ricotta, and beat in a little cream to personal taste. Otherwise, as recipe, and I must tell you, not only did I love it, but my DH thought it was the best lasagna ever :)

I made the whole recipe for just two of us, which means we're looking forward to enjoying it again tonight. Thanks - really good recipe!

Love love love this lasagna! I made this for a large group and everyone wanted the recipe. Some even stated it was the best lasagna they've ever eaten. It is fairly quick to make and so much less work than other lasagnas I've made in the past. I also made a few additions to this recipe. First I browned 3/4 lb. of gr. beef and added 1/2 t. of minced garlic with some fresh parsley. I then combined this with the spaghetti sauce. I layered the noodles, cottage cheese mixture, and sauce as directed however after the second layer of sauce I added a layer of pepperoni. You have to try this! It is soooo good.

This lasagna is amazing! I can't believe how simple it was to make, my husband was very skeptical about this one after he saw me only do about 10 minutes of prepwork before putting into the oven but he LOVED it. Needless to say he was very suprised. I can't believe how yummy it turned out with these simple ingredients.. I did find that doubling the cottage cheese and perm. cheese filled it up a little more, but that was the only thing I changed in the recipe. Thank you for sharing, this one is now in our weekly dinner plan!

This is the best lasagna I've ever had! I'm usually not a fan of lasagna, but I love this recipe. This recipe is perfect just as is, and I love that you can customize it also. I browned 1lb of Italian seasoned ground turkey with onions, garlic and green pepper and used Victoria Marinara sauce, my favorite jared sauce. Everyone in my house, including my four children ages 3-13 cleaned their plates. This is the second time making this and will become a staple in our house. Thanks for a great recipe!

This has become a stand-by in my house -- delicious, with any combo of veggies on hand, or meat if you like. NOTE, though: 8oz cottage cheese must be a typo, as it's clearly not enough for a pan of lasagna; 12-16oz is more like it. Also, the recipe should state NO-BOIL lasagna noodles. And I end with a top layer of noodles, spread with sauce. Magnifique!

Yum! Fabulous recipe! Added an extra layer of noodles/sauce/cheese to make it higher, and sprinkled a little bit of oregano over the sauce for added flavor. Delicious! Enjoyed making this with my young children.

Very simple recipe to follow. My boyfriend loves this lasagna, it just did not blow me away.

I was looking for a quick and easy lasagna to make for tonite's dinner. I'm sure glad that I chose this one. Since we like a meaty lasagna, I did add hamburger to the spaghetti sauce, along with minced garlic. It was so easy to put together and I loved not having to cook the noodles first. Went great with a salad and garlic bread. We'll make this again.

Super easy and Tasty! Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

I have made this twice now. Once with ground beef, and Italian sausage. And once with just the Italian sausage. This is really good and easy to put together. A hit with everyone in my family. Next I think I'll add lots of veggies instead of meat. Thanks for posting!

Registered with Zaar to thank you for this wonderful recipe!!! I was worried that lasagna noodles would not get cooked, but they did! (although, "al diente" which was fine for me). And lasagna was even better the next day and the next day! I used more noodles to fit the pan and had to adjust quantities of other ingredients, too. Also, I threw some fresh muchrooms in the sauce. As I said it turned out great!!! Might add some spinach in the cottage cheese mix next time. Thanks again!

This was awesome! I never have used cottage cheese in a lasagna before, but thought I'd give this a go. I'm never going back! I also threw in some crumbled feta in the middle and a little on the top for some extra kick. That just pushed it over the top - now we have this at least once a week! Also, my husband and I don't really like the top too brown, so I make a "tent" out of tin foil. It sits about an inch over the lasagna and is open on the sides. To prevent any cheese from sticking if it happens to touch, I spray the foil with olive oil. Five stars!!! Thank you!!!

My first lasagna ever was #22799 from this site, and I thought it was a great way to make lasagna, until I loaned out my crock pot and had some ricotta cheese that needed to be used! Enter MizzNezz and her fantastic Easy Way Lasagna. I did add onion/ground beef I had and subbed the ricotta for cottage cheese. I thought this was really good but when my MOM called for the recipe I knew it was a keeper! :) Thanks for the great take on a wonderful dish...PS. I was going to take a picture but we ate it all! I did freeze two pieces for myself in ziploc baggies and it heated up perfectly in the microwave when I needed a fast dinner. Update - I also tried this as a veggie version with summer zucchini and mushroom. Again, fantastic!

This was wonderful! As others have suggested, I added some ground beef and onion, and it was so good! It was so fast and easy to put together, too!
