Whole Wheat Apple Muffins

Ingredients
- Topping:
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. chopped, peeled apples
- 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/4 t. Cinnamon
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/3 c. chopped nuts or 1/4 c. oats
- 1/2 t. cinnamon

Step 1
In a small bowl combine apples and 1/2 c. flour, stir well. In large bowl combine remaining flour, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt and 1/4 t. cinnamon. Stir in apples and remaining ingredients just until moistened. Fill greased muffin cups 2/3 full, sprinkle with topping. Bake at 400 deg for 20-30 min.
