Cooking Lobster

  • Fresh lobster
  • 1 Tbsp salt for 4 cups water

Preparation

Step 1

In large pot, bring to full rolling boil over high heat enough water to cover lobster; add salt. Plunge live lobster head first into water; return to boil. Reduced heat to low; cover and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes per pound of lobster, adding 1 minute for each additional 1/4 pound. Cooked lobster will be bright red, and small leg will come away easily when pulled.
