Ingredients

  • Cookies:

  • 2

    packages instant vanilla pudding

  • 1

    cup oleo or margarine

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 3

    eggs

  • 3

    cups flour

  • 2

    teaspoons baking powder

  • 2

    teaspoons almond extract

  • Frosting:

  • 3

    egg whites

  • 1/2

    teaspoon cream of tartar

  • 1

    (16 ounce) box powdered sugar

  • 1

    teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine all ingredients and mix well. Chill at least 30 minutes. Roll out dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut into shapes and bake on cookie sheets 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool and frost. Frosting: In large mixing bowl beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy. Gradually add sugar and vanilla. Color with food coloring of your choice. Ice cooled cookies and let sit out to set the frosting before storing.
