Root Beer Float Cake

Ingredients

  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 package (18.5 ounces) of yellow cake mix
  • 1 1/2 cups root beer
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 3 tablespoons root beer

Preparation

Step 1

1.Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and
flour a 10-inch fluted tube pan. 2.Stir the cake mix, root beer, oil and eggs in a medium bowl until the mixture is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
3.Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
4.Cool the cake in the pan for 15 minutes on a wire rack. Remove the cake from the pan and cool completely on the wire rack.

For the Glaze:
1.Stir 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar and 3 tablespoons root beer in a small bowl with a fork until the mixture is smooth.
2.Poke holes in the cake with a toothpick or fork, 2 inches apart. Pour the Root Beer Glaze evenly over the cake.
