  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sour milk
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • Nuts if desired
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Step 1

Mix cake ingredients together. Bake in a 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

For frosting: Beat egg whites until stiff. Add brown sugar. Spread on cake. Sprinkle nuts on top. Bake as meringue for a few minutes.
