Molasses Cookies

One of the cookies I make for Christmas.
But for Christmas I use a mini ice cream scoop and then divided that dough in 1/2. Two batches will make 163 cookies. Can freeze for up to 3 months.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda

Preparation
Step 1
1. Cream sugar and shortening. Add Molasses and egg. Beat well.
2. Sift together flour, baking soda, spices and salt. Add to molasses mixture; mix well.
3. Form dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.
4. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
