Chicken Liver Pate

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. butter or margarine
  • 1 lb. chicken livers
  • 1/4 cup cup cognac
  • 2 shallots or green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Dash of nutmeg
  • Hot toast

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter in skillet. Add chicken livers and saute 8 to 10 minutes, or until done. Put in blender with next 5 ingredients and well blended. Put in crock or covered dish and refrigerate at least a day and a half before serving on toast. Makes about 2 cups.
