Soft Pretzels

Ingredients

  • toppings:
  • all purpose flour 4 C
  • sugar 1 TB
  • yeast 2 tsp
  • salt 1 tsp
  • warm water 1 1/2 C
  • egg for brushing
  • coarse salt, cinnamon sugar, cheese jalapeno,
  • wrap around hot dogs or cheese & pepperoni

Preparation

Step 1

in large bowl combine flour, sugar, salt
in warm water mix yeast & set 5 min until frothy
mix yeast with flour
form a soft dough
turn on a floured surface and knead about 6 min - should be smooth and elastic
cover and let rest 10 -20 min
divide into equal portions
form into desired shapes
place on greased baking sheet
cover and let rest another 10-20 min
brush with egg
add topping, salt or sugar
bake at 425 for 12 min
