Oven Baked Chicken

Ingredients

  • 3 lb chicken pieces
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 1 c water
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp grated lemon rind
  • sat and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp sherry or consomme
  • 2 Tbsp chopped parsley

Preparation

Step 1

Dredge chicken in flour and brown in butter-remove from pan
add onions to pan and cook until soft
Add 3 Tbsp flour and stir Add water and sour cream and cook,stirring until thickened and bubbly
Add paprika,parsley,salt,pepper,sherry and lemon rind
Put chicken in a large casserole
Pour sauce over chicken
Cover and bake at 350 F for 1 hour
