Nut Goodie Bars

  • 6 oz. chocolate chips
  • 6 oz. butterscotch chips
  • 3/4 to 1 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. milk or cream
  • 2 tbsp. vanilla pudding (not instant)
  • 3 c. powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. maple flavoring
  • 1/2 lb. Spanish peanuts

Step 1

In top of double boiler, melt chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and peanut butter. Grease 9x13 pan. Put 1/2 mixture in pan and set in refrigerator. In saucepan melt butter, milk, and vanilla pudding. Cook just barely until it starts to thicken. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and maple flavoring. Mixture will be very thick. Spread over chilled chocolate. Add Spanish peanuts to rest of chocolate mixture in double boiler and spread over filling. Chill several hours. Store in refrigerator. Tastes just like a Nut Goodie candy bar! Can add additional layers, too.
