Ingredients

  • 1 1/2

    cups apple pie filling

  • 1

(2 count) package Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust

  • 1

    egg

  • Splash of water

  • Sparkle sugar for sprinkling

  • Caramel sauce and/or ice cream for dipping

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Chop apple pie filling into small pieces. I used a food processor and it worked great! Unroll each crust and spread filling onto one of them, leaving a 1/8″ border around the edge. Layer the other pie crust on top and press lightly to secure it. Make an egg wash by mixing the egg with a splash of water. Brush some egg wash on top. Sprinkle it with sugar. Cut strips about 1/2 inch thick and then cut strips into “fry” shapes. Place "fries" carefully onto a baking sheet and bake them approximately 12 minutes, or until they’re slightly golden and firm. Serve with ice cream or caramel “ketchup” for dipping.
