Pulled Pork BBQ

Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 pork roasts – I always look for ones with good marbling
  • Onion Flakes
  • Lemon Pepper
  • Liquid Smoke
  • Worcestershire sauce (just a splash or two)
  • 1 bottle of Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce per roast (1 roast = 1 bottle sauce)
  • ¼ - ½ c brown sugar (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Place pork roasts, 1 cup water, splash of Worcestershire sauce, sprinkle (to taste) with onion flakes, lemon pepper and approximately 1 tablespoon liquid smoke in crock pot. Turn on High for first hour, then down to low and let slow cook all day or overnight.

Remove roasts from liquid and pour liquid into a large measuring cup or bowl. (Liquid can be used to rehydrate the pork if it seems dry.) Take sections of the roasts and place back in the crock pot, shredding each section with forks. Once all of the pork is shredded, add one bottle of sauce at a time, stirring thoroughly. (Additional liquid smoke can be added at this time…but be cautious as a little goes a long way.) Because I like my BBQ a little sweet, I add ¼ to ½ cup brown sugar with the sauce.

I serve with slider buns or the Sandwich Thins.

As you can see, I really don’t have a “recipe”…it’s a lot of by guess and by golly cooking!
