Ingredients
- 1/2 C. Chopped Onion ( 1 med. )
- 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
- 1 28 oz. Can Tomatoes, cut up
- 1/4 C. Dry Red Wine
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1/8 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
- 1/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
- 1/4 C. Fresh Basil, coarsely chopped
- 2 tsp. sugar
Preparation
Step 1
In a med. saucepan, cook the onion & garlic in hot oil over med. heat till onion is tender. Stir in undrained tomatoes, wine, salt, cayenne pepper & black pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered for 25-30 min. or till sauce reaches desired consistancy, stirring occasionally. Stir in basil & sugar. Cover & cook for 5 min. more. Serve over pasta.
