Pie Crust

Ingredients

  • 2 cup flour
  • 6 tbsp ice water
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 7 tbsp vegetable shortening

Preparation

Step 1

Combine 1/2 cup flour, ice water and vinegar, whisk to form slurry.
Combine remaining flour, powdered sugar, salt and vegetable shortening, cutting in shortening till the mix resembles coarse meal.
Add the slurry to the flour mixture, tossing with a fork until dough is all moist.
Form two 4 inch rounds; roll out between 2 sheets of plastic wrap.
Chill until wrap can be easily removed, about 10 minutes.
