Ingredients
- 1 pkg. Betty Crock pie crust
- mix
- 4 eggs
- 1/3 c. minced onion (or chives)
- 12 slices bacon (about 1/2 lb.),
- crisply fried & crumbled
- 2 c. whipping cream
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded natural
- Swiss cheese
- 1/4 tsp. sugar
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne red pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Heat oven to 425°. Prepare pastry for 9-inch, one-crust pie as directed on package. Sprinkle bacon, cheese and onion in pastry-lined pan. Beat eggs slightly, beat in remaining ingredients. Pour egg mixture into pie pan. Bake 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 300° and bake 30 minutes longer, or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting. Serve in wedges. Yield: 6 main-dish servings, or 8 appetizer servings.
