BUTTER TART SQUARES
Got this recipe from a Canadian Living Summer Baking booklet... Easy to make and very tasty !!

Ingredients
- BASE:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- TOPPING:
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- pinchpinch salt
- 1/2 cup coarsley chopped pecans
- 1 cup raisins (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
BASE:
Combine flour and sugar. Using pastry blender, blend in butter till crumbly. Press into a 9 inch pan lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 for 12 minutes.
TOPPING:
Mix butter and eggs. Blend in sugar, flour, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Stir in raisins and nuts. Pour over base.
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Let cool in pan. Cut into squares.
