  • 1 cup butter, cold
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • Top Layer
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 each eggs
  • 1/2 cup almonds, silvered

Preparation

Step 1

1. Oven 350

2. For the bottom layer, cut butter into flour just as you would for a pie crust. Add water and mix. Spread thin onto a cookie sheet.

3. for the top layer, bring water and butter to boil, add almond extract and flour. Remove from heat. Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each egg, with a fork. Spread onto bottom layer.

4. Bake 350 for 40-45 minutes. Frost with buttercream frosting made with almond extract.
