Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 c cake flour
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 1/4 t baking powder
  • 1 1/8 t ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 t salt
  • 1/2 c buttermilk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 T butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven 425 degrees.

In Lg mixing bowl, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Add buttermilk, egg, and butter and stir until just combined. Fill each doughnut cup approx 1/2 full.

Bake 4-6 min. or until the top of the doughnut springs back when touched. Let cool in pan for 4-5 min before removing. Finish doughnuts with glaze or sprinkles.

Makes 24 mini doughnuts

Vanilla Glaze:
1 c pow sugar
1 T milk
1/2 t vanilla
