Ingredients
- 5 Tbs olive oil
- 5 cloves garlic smashed
- 1 small chopped onion
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary
- 1 2oz piece of pancetta (optional) or add 1 tsp bacon grease for flavor
- 1 large can San Marzano tomatoes crushed by hand
- Kosher salt
- 3 lbs fresh cranberry beans in pods, shelled or 1 cup dried soaked overnight (if cranberry beans are not available great northern beans can be substituted)
- 2 bay leaves
