  • Pastry:
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup tenderflake
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup rice krispies
  • Filling:
  • 6 cups apples thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon



Step 1

Mix flour and salt. Cut in shortening. Add milk and egg yolk. Spread half the pastry on a cookie sheet thinly. Cover with rice krispies.

Mix together apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon. Add nut meg if desired.

Spread apple mixture over pastry. Dab with butter.

Cover with remaining pastry.

Brush top with egg white.

Bake at 375 for 30-45 minutes
