Holiday Fruit Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups butter
  • 2 c sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/2 c molasses
  • 4 c flour
  • 2 t cinnamon
  • 1 t mace
  • 1 t nutmeg
  • 1 t cloves
  • 3/4 cup brandy
  • 1 lb. pitted dates
  • 1 lb. figs
  • 1 lb. raisins
  • 2 lb. candied fruit
  • lb. cherries

Preparation

Step 1

cream butter, sugar and eggs.
Dissolve bakig soda in molasses
mix 3 cups flour with spices. Dredge all fruit with 1 cupflour. Add flour and spices to butter. Stir in molasses& brandy stir in fruit, allow to sit over night, mix in th morning and cook. Pour brantdy on cakes 1x a week.
