Ingredients

    c. tomato sauce

  • 1 1/2

    tbl. Kraft barbeque sauce

  • 1

    tbl. sugar

  • 1 1/2

    lb. ground beef (7% fat is best) (can add some mild Italian sausage)

  • 1/2

    c. wheat germ (optional)

  • 6

    tbl. flour

  • 3/4

    tsp. salt

  • 1/2

    tsp. onion powder

  • 1/4

    tsp. pepper

  • dash garlic powder

Directions

Combine tomato sauce, barbeque sauce and sugar in a saucepan. Heat to bubbling. Remove from heat. In a large bowl, combine the meat, wheat germ (if used) and all but 2 tbl. of the sauce. Add the remaining ingredients and mix. Put mixture into loaf pan. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes at 400. Drain any fat from the pan. Slice into 8 slices while still in the pan. Pour the remaining sauce over the top of the loaf. Cook, uncovered, 25-30 minutes more.
