Christmas Caramels

Ingredients

  • 1 Pt. Whipping Creaqm
  • 2 C. Blue Label Karo Syrup
  • 2 C. Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Chopped Walnuts (Optional)

Preparation

Step 1

In large saucepan, combinee whipping cream, Karo syrup and sugar. Bring to a full rolling boil. Cook until mixture forms a firm when tested in cold water. Remove from heat. Add salt, vanilla and nuts (if desired). Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet and let stand 24 hours. Cut into small squares and wrap individually in wax paper.

Hint: If the caramel mixture doesn't set up in 24 hours, it is undercooked. Don't throw it out! Put mixture back in saucepan and recook until a firm ball forms when tested.
