Ingredients

  • 1/2

    cup Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening

  • 1/2

    cup Butter

  • 1 1/4

    cups firmly packed Brown Sugar

  • 1

    large Egg

  • 1

    tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 2

    cups Pillsbury BEST All Purpose Flour

  • 1/2

    tsp. baking soda

  • 1/4

    tsp salt

  • 3/4

    cups butterscotch chips (optional)

Directions

HEAT oven to 350 degrees BEAT shortening, butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt. Add gradually to creamed mixture, along with chips, beating on low speed until blended. SHAPE dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. BAKE 12 to 14 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Makes 4 dozen
