Ingredients
- 4 cups of grape juice (3 ½ lbs blue grape)
- 3 cups of sugar
Preparation
Step 1
1. To make juice: for best results use about ½ of firm grapes and the rest fully ripen. Wash, remove stems and crush.
2. Add ½ cup of water to cover and bring to a boil over high heat.
3. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
4. Pour fruit and juice into a strainer and allow juice to drip into a bowl.
5. Stand in a cool place overnight. Strain through a jelly bag.
6. To make the jelly, measure juice in a large kettle, add sugar and mix well.
7. Bring to a boil over high heat and boil until mixture reaches the get stage (220).
8. Remove from the heat and skim off foam and pour immediately into hot sterilized jars.
9. Seat at once with a metal lid and band.
