Smothered Pork Chops II

By

When you need to get dinner on the table, and don't have time to spare, get out your skillet and try these scrumptious pork chops that go from fridge to table in just 35 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 boneless pork chops, 3/4-inch thick (about 2 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, sliced (about 1 cup)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Preparation

Step 1

Stir the broth and cornstarch in a small bowl until the mixture is smooth. Season the pork, if desired.

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add the pork and cook for 5 minutes or until well browned on both sides. Remove the pork from the skillet.

Heat the remaining oil in the skillet. Add the onion and cook for 3 minutes or until tender-crisp, stirring occasionally. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring often.

Stir the broth mixture in the skillet. Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens. Return the pork to the skillet. Reduce the heat to low. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the pork is cooked through.

OMG !! I added mushrooms with the onions and it was AWESOME!! I also used extra virgin olive oil instead of "PAM". The veggies were great by themselves. I made gravy with flour instead of cornstarch BC that's what I had on hand. The meal was Excellent, definitely make it again.

This took me literally 20 minutes to make...I used boneless pork chops and added a little Adobo and Onion Powder to the chops prior to cooking...very tasty and mashed potatoes are the perfect match for the gravy!!! Love it and will make again definitely!

I am a live in care-provider and unfortunately I was not born with the greatest cooking skills, but thanks to Campbell's Kitchen my client thinks I can burn like Paula Dean : ) I made this dish for dinner late night and she (my client) really enjoyed it.

Really good recipe, but it was a little bland. I added garlic, salt, and onion powder to just give it a little more flavor.

I added Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup to the gravy and it was fantastic!

Very delicious!!

I grilled mushrooms with the onions and they were delicious!

My husband loved this one. This one will be made often!!!

This is one of my favorite meals to cook and eat. My husband absolutely loves it!!

I made this for all my roommates. They loved it and couldn't believe how easy it was for me to fix for them.

This recipe turned out great. I give it five stars because the small amount of effort paid off with great taste. There are other recipes that have a more advanced flavor experience, but this really tasted good and it was almost effortless. We didn't have corn starch, so we used flour - just double the amount in the recipe if you use flour though.

My family loved this recipe and it took no time to prepare and cook.

I added a tablespoon of Honey Mustard to the broth and it was delightful!

So delicious!!!!! My entire family enjoyed it, even my 9 year old son who hates onions. Can't wait to make it again.

This recipe is great and the kids loved it too!

This dish was very easy to make and everyone loved it.

I love this meal and I will make it again.

Simply "awesome"!

We've made this twice. I now know to double the broth because it's delicious as a gravy for mashed potatoes.

Absolutely delicious!

It's so tasty, my husband and six kids all like it.

This is another keeper. It was delicious and a nice twist for pork chops.

Everyone in my house loves this. My daughter usually will not eat pork chops, but when this is made she can't get enough.

I dipped the chops in eggs, then flour and then I cooked them. It was great!

Kinda bland. :(
