Ingredients

    lb smoked sausage, cut in pieces

    15 oz cans black beans, drained

  • 1 1/2

    c chopped onion

  • 1 1/2

    c chopped green bell pepper

  • 1 1/2

    c chopped celery

  • 2

    tsp crushed garlic

  • 2

    tsp dried thyme

  • 1 1/2

    tsp dried oregano

  • 1 1/2

    tsp pepper

  • 1/4

    tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1

    chicken bouillon cube

  • 5

    bay leaves

  • 1

    8 oz can tomato sauce

  • 1

    c water

Directions

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6 hours. Remove bay leaves. Serve over rice. If freezing: cool to room temperature and then freeze.
