Easy Ham and Corn Chowder Recipe

This super easy chowder made with ham and creamed corn is hearty and satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 3/4 cup chopped celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 4 cups creamed style corn
  • 1 cup half and half (or whole milk)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin

Preparation

Step 1

Melt butter over medium heat in a Dutch oven or large saucepan. Add ham, celery and onion and saute until onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
Stir in cream style corn, half and half, garlic powder, salt, pepper, paprika and cumin.
Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Salt and pepper to taste.
