Ingredients
- 1 lb spicy Italian Sausage (crumble finely when cooked)
- 1/2 lb bacon or 1/2 cup real bacon bits
- 2 cups water
- 2 14.5 oz cans chicken broth
- 2 large potatoes - cubed with peeling
- 2 large garlic cloves - crushed
- 1 medium onion - chopped
- 2 cups chopped kale or Swiss chard (I use kale)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- salt and pepper to taste

Preparation
Step 1
In a skillet over med-high heat, brown sausage, breaking into small pieces as you fry it; drain and set aside. In a skillet fry bacon, drain and set aside.
Place water, broth, potatoes, garlic and onion in a pot; simmer over medium heat until potatoes are tender. Add sausage and bacon to pot and simmer for 10 minutes. Add kale and cream to pot; season with salt and pepper, heat through and serve.
