Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c sifted flour
  • 1 c butter
  • 1 pkg dry yeast
  • 1/4 c warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 c sour cream
  • 1 egg plus 2 egg yolks- well beaten
  • Sift flour, salt into bowl. Cut in butter. Dissolve yeast in water. Stir in flour mixture with sour cream, eggs and vanilla. Mix well by hand. Cover with damp cloth and refrigerate for two hours.

Step 1

Roll half of dough on sugared board into oblong 8x16. Fold ends toward center ends overlapping. Sprinkle with sugar. Roll again to same size. Repeat a third time.
Roll about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into strips 1x4. Bake 375 degrees for 15 minutes.
