Microwave Caramel Corn

I can't think about this recipe without remembering Jana burning herself while making it. Please be careful this stuff gets very hot!

  • 16 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cube butter
  • 1/4 cup Karo Syrup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Step 1

In a medium sized bowl, melt butter in microwave. Add karo syrup, brown sugar and salt. Microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Stir and cook 2 1/2 minutes more. Add 1 teaspoon baking soda. Stir. Pour over popcorn and mix lightly. Put popcorn into a clean brown paper bag and put in microwave for 1 minute. Take out and shake and cook again for 1 minute. Do this a total of 3 times, shaking well in between. Pour into serving bowl and enjoy!
