Ingredients
- 3 lb. - McIntosh apples, cored and cut into 8 wedges
- 1 c. - firmly packed dark-brown sugar
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation
Step 1
Combine apples, sugar, ginger, allspice and cloves in a microwave-safe 13x9x2-inch baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with microwave-safe plastic wrap. Microwave at full power for 15 minutes. Carefully prick the plastic to release the steam. Carefully uncover the dish. Pass mixture through food mill fitted with medium-size dish. Return puree to baking dish. Microwave, uncovered, at full power for 20 minutes. Stir and set aside to cool.
